There is an I-131 LUD today from NSC and it says document mailed and that it will be delivered within 30 days.
My RD is 8/15, ND is 10/12. I guess the Processing Times (@ 9/30 as of Feb 15, 08) caught up.

we (those who already filed + those will be filing) can never be united, may be it is our birth right to dispute each other. What a pathetic scene, guyz one thing to remember is unless old cases get cleared there is no way new one gets benefited in the long run.

Almost all companies, in every field (engg, medicine, nursing, research..) hire people through contracting agencies. Most of the companies these days hire only US citizens or GC or EAD and try best not to hire H1b and if you look at their employees, it is rare to find 50% or more h1b holders.
On the contrary, outsourcing companies may have majority of their workers coming here on L1 or H1b and when such a fgee is imposed, I guess, for the biggies, it is just a small adjustment in their costs of bringing workers which they will adjust in their other expenses.
Overall, I am not sure, how much revenue such a law will generate. Will it generate enough revenue which is being claimed (600 million?)
To me, this kinda speech and trashing Indian companies and outsourcing etc... and showing that they acted on it just looks like it is pure politics to save face during the election year.

dont worry, the above scenario would happen only if pd remaines current.This is highly unlikely. In the next few months PD would retrogress to for instance 2004 , then you'll get your GC first :) Cheer up buddy:)

I am glad to see sked A here. I have been following this forum for a long time now and there is nothing for healthcare prof though the discussions were very helpful. As I can see it, the july VB put benefits on those going through AOS but as a result those whom I know who are scheduled for interview in their home countries in AUg. was cancelled.
That is sad news!! I can just imagine how they feel, after waiting so long! Anyway lets hope something positive happens for the Oct bulletin.
A hospital I know is SO short of nurses they are offering them GREAT incentives to take on extra shifts. I mean it is an ACUTE shortage.

Agreed, that would be the biggest impact... But, not all of us would be able to get an opportunity elsewhere in the world.. For example, doctors, scientists... not many countries match US infrastructure..
This is only my view...
As the saying goes..."Justice delayed is Justice Denied"
Considering our opportunity cost, many of us may be better off packing our bags and heading back - this may have an impact on the feds, the companies and people at large who think that WE are a burden on the society. All these artificial barriers and hurdles are a reflection of this.
Its quite apparent that there is no end game in sight, there is no motive here(ref to subash and gandhi message by asharda), no end game...it can only get worse. The Feds have succeed in Scr....wing US.
bottom line - Do we really add value to the society here?
convince the people and this will be the ONLY solution to our problems.

So you are looking for motivation? Your post do not indicate that you are looking for motivation. There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. You are pretty much convinced that you don't belong here. Now you are just spoiling the environment to make sure that others all leave looking at you and mad-dog bickering. That gives me some hope..My PD is EB3 India Oct 2004...I am filing 485 now..hope I get GC in 2 years from now!!!!
I am sure you'll get GC by the end on this year or early next year. I might have called USCIS abt 15-20 times and from what I understand dates would retrogress for eb3 India, but not horribly. My guess in of the total applications in August 30% have older PD 02/03/04. Becuause pf PERM processing majority are 05/06/07.
