No flags, no anger, no fodder for Lou Dobbs; this will be the most peaceful march that Washington has ever seen, inspired by the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.
This rally will not be country specific; People affected by this bureaucratic nightmare come in all shapes, colors and nationalities.
This is a time for all LEGAL immigrants to renew their tryst with destiny. The unworkable Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill that would have added decades to the wait time of LEGAL immigrants is now dead. Piecemeal approach bills are being introduced both in the house and the senate. It is time to stand and make our case - We are professionals, we are highly skilled and we deserve a fair immigration process.
So now fellow immigrant, the choice is yours. Whether you adjusted your status 5 years back or yesterday, you know the nightmare you went through. Others who filed their Adjustment of Status in the avalanche of July 2nd can be expected to remain buried in paper for the foreseeable future. The only way the lawmakers in Washington will hear

anyway my comments are about the crazy, career oriented, tradition less girls. And most of teh US girls are like that. Ofcourse not 100%, there may be few jewels..

I am hoping they just dont tie EB2 I and Eb2 C at 15th Feb 2005 in April 2009.
Previously we have seen bulletins where Eb2 I and Eb2 C have tied up at 1Apr2004.
I dont know how many iterations it will take before it reaches the RIR/PERM boundary(1 Apr 2005)

Life is about compromise and you are right it is hurtful to the future of baby who don't realize what is going on. Baby really need both Mom and Dad, pls try to explain this to your wife.
About cutting off with parents, she can chose not to talk to your parents and/or you can chose not to talk to her parents if things are not right. But forcing to breakup with own parents is utterly wrong and unacceptable. You can try to explain this to your wife.
This is your side of story "She started harassing them too by saying something or other. " and you must remember there is something called postpartum depression which Indian parents in-laws don't understand when they come for their daughter-in-laws delivery. I have heard few other cases when things went really bad after delivery.
Try to explain her that she and child are your first priority. I am sure you have tried to do this many times, try few times more. If talking results in a fight, try sending a long thoughtful email (make sure any of it can't be used against you if things still don't get better, probably you can use it in your favor if needed about the efforts you put in to improve). Before even thinking about divorce try to give life a 2nd chance and may be 3rd chance.
I must say that it is hard to believe that in this whole thing you/your parents didn't do anything wrong and one fine day your wife went nuts. Try to analyze yourself too.

I came to US in 2002 and completed masters and been working since then. I got married couple of years ago. Whatever the monetary gifts the girls parents gave as part of the marriage, I put all that in an account on the girls name within 2 days of the marriage. We came to India and from then on the problems started. She and her parents want me to separate from my parents and support their family by sending money to their parents which I couldn't do. How can I leave my parents in their old age when they worked very hard to give a decent life. She has been harassing me mentally for this all the time. Recently her parents have been threatening me saying they will file dowry case in India if I don't send money or cut myself off from my parents. I provided for the girl in all possible ways, even encouraged her to join school to get a masters degree which she stopped soon. We had a baby recently and my parents visited us to help us with the baby. She started harassing them too by saying something or other.
I am very frustrated at this situation and I don't know what to do. I am on H1B and applied for 485 too. At times I feel like applying for divorce but when I think about my little baby I am not able to take that step. The house we currently live in, I bought long before the marriage. It came to a situation where we cannot live together. I cannot ask her to go out of the house because she doesn't have anywhere to go and with the baby even if she leaves, it will be very tough. I said I will leave the house and stay in a apartment for which she threatens to commit suicide. So, I don't know what to do. Not true. Anybody donates will get Donor status. This is started for last few days, so people who donated in last few days get this. Pappu mentioned that he is planning to cross reference this with old donations but not sure whats happening there.

I do not support this donor ONLY idea.
Also, Day 1, the FOIA initiative had a goal of $5K.
And without reason, the goal was increased to $10K.
So, pappu should not complain of not reaching the goal when he keeps increasing the goal.

We all felt like increasing the goal becasue out the 100 or so FOIA responses we got atleat we should be able to respond to couple of them. FOIA is not the only one needing money.

For committed people like you, we can request IV core for some special consideration.
But I support this initiative. Just see the FOIA thread. We could not even pool up 5K and there are at least 5000 members out of which at least 500 active users.
Unless there is some intiative like this, it will be impossible for pushing any lobbying activities. There are many people who wants every thing free.

For those who follow NPR news, there is diane Reem show tomorrow on NPR radio and the subject is immigration reform.
It will be a good chance to make some sensible calls, but requesting to make a limited number of calls with clairty in questions, probably one at a time
Certainly a good chance (not to miss) so that our concerns can be heard across the country
If I understood it right, they wanted to remove the 10% per country limit for the Nurses and Physical Therapist since a majority come from 3 countries - India, China and Phillipines

Alright Guys, Let's ignore this Dard-e-disco guy he doesn't deserve a second of our time. To answer your question, one thing atleast USCIS can give us is, Release data like How many applications they have already received from Major Green Card Seeking countries and in which EB categories. All this data they would have entered in their computers, They can easily run these kind of reports, I'm sure they'll be having some Data Warehousing softwares. So atleast everybody of know where we stand today and stop predicting cut-off dates etc. etc.
They can also make sure they send our APs and EADs in less than 90 days....
a million things in this world are wrong and occassionally you will be at the receiver's end. Am sure you want things to change, so does every member of this group and many more who arent aware or part of IV yet.
Let us(as members) know what would you like to change in USCIS management. If you feel management should be criticised then lets hear it detailed. Would request to keep a positive outlook and suggest what you would like to see happen. Am sure everyone hear is all ears.

I have seen my friends refinancing, received mixed results.
Few say, can not approve loan because of temproary status (They have no answer for why they allowed last year when purchasing the home).
Same guys were able to get it done thru other banks.
EAD - is not popular as H1B in the financial area. They don't understand. You have to give this as a supporting document along with your H1B Visa and I-797.

There seems to be no trend. Mine is non-RIR from 2001 November, transferred from Federal. I have not heard anything after receving 45-day letter in May 2005. Recent case status from BEC says my application is awaiting further review by a BEC analyst. One day, it might be approved. Incidentally DOL web site says still 17 months remaining for backlog removal.:D We should see light at the end of tunnel after another 1 1/2 years.

Lets say out of 500K indians are 25%(atleast), so 125K, 1 year we get 7k visas based on country, so will it take 20 years for all July filers to get GC?????????????? We need major reform then, thats a total wait of 25 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!
