Here is my point. I spend several hours 3-4 hours at least every day looking through the forum posts hoping to find ways i can contribute to efforts.
You should find ways to participate if you click on the orange Action Alerts link.
Also, click on "Advocacy" and "Volunteer" in the blue menu bar at the top of every page. You will find TONS of things to do on an ongoing basis.
Did you:
Join your state chapter?
Send letters for FOIA campaign?
Send letters on the spate of I-485 denials?
Send letters to Senators regarding Housing Crisis?
Participate in Team IV?
All links are available under action alerts and first post of each of those threads has all the relevant information. I am not sure what other information you are seeking.

a) The obvious, in April spill over happens. India Jumped from U to 1dec 03 in April08
b) in 2008 April India Eb2 tied with China Eb2 as India Eb2 was unavailable in March 2008
given the regulation of giving spillover by earliest date India Eb2 held China Eb2 at the 1Dec03 date for the month of April 2008
c) This year has not needed any pd backward movement for India. This is unlike 2008 where it went to Jan02 and Jan00 to U. This means India Quota itself is still being used and yet we are at 15 Feb 04.
Please let me know if you see any more interesting things in this.

employer can withdraw the 140 any time before the approval of 485 - there is no time limit.
That is right. But one MUST NOT worry about it as long as they have a job in hand with same or similar duties. Things to watch out are
(1) AC21 letter
(2) G28 properly filed
(3) NOID
(4) Denial - happened in some cases and reopened through MTR
Now even if your old employer did not revoke 140 you may get an RFE.

Thanks a bunch for all of you who contributed today, I read each and every post and felt very content that atleast there are people who feel the same way like I feel. IV is the only org that stands for us. It is time to strengthen it, Most of you have no idea how much money is really needed for lobbying, and how far it can take us if each of us contributed a little every month.

I think for legals, uptill now, it is just they will remove the cap from EB numbers for Schedule A workers ie. nurses etc.

You make a good point. However, since I have mentioned both EB and FB in the article, I think it is appropriate to include that it can in fact take 20 years to get the GC. The Senate bill does have provisions to ameliorate both EB and FB backlogs, as far as I remember.

Perhaps it may be a good idea to mention that with economies of countries like India on an accelerated growth path, these highly educated, skilled and experienced professionals that are an asset to America are increasingly preferring to (or seriously thinking about) returning to their home countries.
Another scenario - 20-25 years down the road, America will no longer be a leader any more given the growth of India and China. To sustain the technological and economical leadership of America, it is critical that we act now and fix a broken immigration system, and grant those legally here for a number of years, with approved Green Card petitions the pride of actually becoming permanent residents and eventually citizens as quickly as possibly.

My I-140 was filed in EB2 on the 18th of August and I was heart broken this morning when I came across this memo on IV this morning....I do not have a US Masters and was banking on my Bachelors + 5 years to qualify....My attorney sent me the following reply
"This memo deals with the EB-1 category and the memo does not talk about the EB-2 category. Your I-140 was filed for an EB-2 position and you should not worry about this memo."
Not sure about her comments, what do u guys think?
I was also doing some research online and found that EB-2 "Exceptional Ability" is different from EB-2 with "Advanced Degree Professionals" on . Looks like the 10+ years has always been the criteria for "exceptional ability" and most of us who are looking to substitute our work experience for Advanced degree do not fall into this category.

I am very junior member on IV forums and have listened to all the experts and senior members on IV from time to time. Very solid ideas and very intelligent people! Although, I am not too familiar with the intricacies of what DOS said or what USCIS said; what I know is that there are many thousands of us who are here in a limbo for many many years. I think we have been "super- nice" to USCIS and Congress in the way we have approached them for our problems and rightly so - thats just us!
We have done our best educate them via lobbying efforts etc but wouldnt you agree that its time be a little more "assertive' now. Seriously, we dont know what the bigger picture is here. Year after Year, Month after month nothing moves with USCIS. Same old grim Visa Bulletin. I had written elsewhere that I dont even remember what my dates are anymore! Being in a western country or anywhere else in the world for 10-12 years is a long time. The culture, the enviroment and the system grows on you. Most of us left from India or elsewhere, when we were in our mid 20s . As young adults most of were explorers - soaking information, knowledge, new skills etc as we embarked on our journey to settle down in a foreign country. I think its fair to say that most of us have actually acquired our adult wisdom here. What I am getting to, is that when people talk about packing their bags and going back home - it may only be easier said than done!
I am not an expert at this but I believe we may have to come together again and we will need more visibility - maybe a six month long agressive assertive campaign - letters, flowers, rally and more all together so that we can catch congress' attention. It seems like legislation is the only way out here. Again, please pardon my inability to comprehend issues correctly, if I am wrong in saying so, but if we continue to rely on visa bulletins and USCIS; nothing is going to happen. All I can say is that whatever leaders and intellects at IV decide, I am here in anyway you all need me to help! Please feel free to ask for help at jaisinghaII@gmail.com. So far lot of discussions on how to start LLC/Inc
but how to start a company without changing current status
Here is my status:
My wife and I are on H1 and we got our EAD's now the question are:-
My wife remains on her H1 for safe....until we get GC.
Is it possible me to stay on H1 and start a LLC using my EAD to do a parttime business ?
Please provide Pros and cons if any.....

One major issue is, every year they are going to receive 600K EAD renewals. They will never get time to work on 485, but life long working on renewing this EAD's and no more further GC processing.
Remember...some of these 600K will get the GCs or have them denied. For example, concurrently filed I-140s will be denied etc. So the numbers may reduce over time.

So, no worries. There must be a solution ahead for us.

yabadaba, we will always have tough opposition when we try to do something. Your op-ed was very good and some people could not swallow it. You know some people can't imagine anyone from your country having good english! All these media efforts help us raise awareness, send our message across to the masses to counter anti immigrant propaganda. Due to our press coverage lawmaker offices too have started to take us seriously. Thanks to you and other IV members that are constantly helping this organization in media efforts, whether it is as small as writing emails, getting interviewed or writing articles.
